2016-2017 Group Service Projects

Operation Outreach Food Drive:

The first group project depended on using leadership skills to include the entire EGHS student body. THS president Zoie Cramer served as the liaison between THS and Operation Outreach, our community food pantry. She coordinated the food drive so that each THS member was responsible for a WIN class period. Congratulations to Mr. Hutcherson and his WIN room for donating the most items; they won a breakfast from Magic Morning Bakery. Working as a team, EGHS donated over 800 items to Operation Outreach.

Acts of Kindness Workday:

Nick Maesh, THS treasurer, laid the groundwork to complete work here at EGHS.  THS represented the community well, as members collectively donated over 100 work hours as we cleaned, organized, and moved equipment in four different locations of the school.

Helping in Solsberry:

Our third group project, organized by vice president Sydnee Skinner, allowed for us to donate 96 total hours to the Solsberry Christian Church. We assisted with landscaping needs outside of the building, and we also tested our creativity as we helped make the sets for their upcoming summer VBS. According to Chad Stowers, the THS members’ help saved the Solsberry folks about four weeks worth of work!

Popcorn Sales for the EGHS Student Activities Fund:

Everyone loves Inga's Popcorn! Once again, our fundraiser was a success! THS members sold 251 tubs of popcorn that Inga will make fresh just for us. From this sale, we are donating $2,012.50 into the Student Activities Fund. Our top sales people were as follows:

1st: Colton Hewins
2nd: Brittney Groomer
3rd: Peighton Quimby
