Eastern Greene Elementary Kindergarten - fourth grade students are assessed on their reading / comprehension skills four times a year using the Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System(BAS).   This assessment allows educators and paraprofessionals to design curriculum to best meet the needs of our diverse learners. Students requiring additional support to reach academic success are eligible for Title I services. These services may include, but not limited to: attending FOCUS period (an additional 45 minutes of Language Arts / Math instruction daily), working in small groups with a Title I Paraprofessional and/or the Title I Teacher, receiving individual instruction, continued progress monitoring of skills, continual support throughout all academic areas, and encouraged parental involvement to ensure the student’s academic success.
