Ms. Fledderman

Hello! My name is Katie Fledderman, and it's my second year teaching science at Eastern Greene High School. For the 2019-2020 school year, I will be teaching Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry I,  Chemistry II (Dual Credit through Ivy Tech) and Environmental Science (Dual Credit through Ivy Tech).

A little about my background: I grew up in southeastern Indiana in a rural community called Everton and graduated from Connersville High School. After high school, I attended Franklin College and graduated with a  Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. I worked in Indianapolis for several years at a toxicology lab and a medical communications firm and eventually left the workforce to attend graduate school at Indiana University-Bloomington. I graduated from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) in 2015 with a Master's Degree in Environmental Science and a Master's Degree in Public Affairs. During graduate school, I worked as a teaching assistant, and I worked as a lab assistant in an environmental science lab where I performed tests to determine the microbiological activity in water and soil samples. After my time at IU-SPEA, I began working for the State of Indiana, first as a Sustainability Program Director and then as an Air Permit Writer.

Currently, my husband, Andrew and I live in Bloomington and have two dogs: Louie (the small, fluffy one) and Zoey (the black and white one). In my spare time I like to run, bike, read, travel, work on our house, and visit family and friends. Also, I have a really big sweet tooth!

I am very excited to begin for the 2019-2020 school year! I look forward to meeting each of my students and their parents. Cheers to a great year ahead!
