Welcome to the Eastern Greene Middle School website. We hope that you find the information throughout our site useful and helpful. It is our goal at EGMS to prepare every middle school learner to be a well-rounded student prepared for the rest of their educational careers and equipped to “change the world.” Our teachers work hard to incorporate a variety of 21st Century learning skills throughout their lessons and activities and focus on student data to help drive and improve instruction. Student collaboration, the incorporation of various technologies, student inquiry, and multiple forms of assessment is just a few of the methods that are utilized here at EGMS. We pride ourselves on the safe and student-centered environment we have created and strive to maintain. In addition to a rigorous curriculum, we also provide opportunities for students to grow in the arts and extracurricular areas. Finally, it is our goal to keep our entire school community informed of all the activities and events that will be taking place at EGMS. I would encourage everyone to refer to our website on a regular basis to follow all the positive events and activities that our middle school students will be a part of. Parents can also utilize the site to help monitor student homework, assignments, and assessment information.

Important Dates & Information

Aug 7 - First Student Day!!

Aug 14 - Open House 6 - 7 PM

  • The IDOE has designated a small window (July 15-26) for parents and schools to request specific questions from last spring's ILEARN assessment to be re-scored.  However, we have learned that those scores will actually not be available until August 15 so we can't tell if the answers are passing or not.  We have also been informed that re-scoring questions could result in lowering of a score on specific questions.  With those caveats, if parents of last year's 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students would still like to view their child's written responses during this window, please call Mr. Ault at 812 825 5010.
